Pastor Elizabeth E. Campbell was born to the late Bishop Earnest Williams and Daisy Williams (Frazier) on January 8, 1937, in Savannah, GA. She was the oldest daughter, and second child of 19 children. Elizabeth met and married her first husband Willie Shuman Jr. and was then known to some as Mrs. Shuman. She relocated to Albany, NY in the late 1950's.
Elizabeth met and married her second husband Albert H. Campbell in the mid 70's. While attending Christian Way Holiness Church under Reverend Johnny Williams. Pastors Albert and Elizabeth Campbell opened and formed God's House of Prayer Church in Albany, NY.
Her early employment was at The Villa Mary Immaculate Nursing Home (part of St. Peter's Hospital). She was last employed with the V.A Hospital where she worked in the food service department until 1978. Elizabeth used to travel to Atlantic City, NJ and enjoyed playing bid whist with her V.A hospital coworkers and friends. She was a part of a bowling league and received several trophies for her participation.
Pastor Elizabeth Campbell's heart was full of love. She peacefully lent a helping hand to others and always opened her door for friends and family. She leaves to mourn her children; Willie Shuman III, Ronald Shuman (Phylis), Wanda E. Shuman (Warren), Bernard Shuman, all of Albany, NY, Mark A. Shuman (Ronnie) of Fayetteville, NC, Jennell E. Shuman of Albany, NY, her son and grandson Bernard (B.J) Shuman Jr., two step daughters Gwen Campbell (Don), Sherli Campbell of Schenectady, NY, four adopted children Jones Campbell (Melissa), Shyron Campbell, Lamar Campbell all of Albany, NY.
Elizabeth also leaves to mourn her grandchildren; Marsell Shuman, Tauchia Chaney, Wanda Shuman, Matthew Chaney Antionette Shuman, Michael Shuman, Tiffany Ford, David Shuman, Marcia DeLouch, Keona Bostic, Phillip Shuman, Bernard Shuman, Carlrell Legget, Antionette Bostic, Gabe Shuman, Jamal Shuman, Tierra Modest, Carlvial Legget, Ashley Turner, Justin Turner, Donte Shuman, Deandre Turner, Jareem Morris, Karter Campbell, and host of siblings, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
She also leaves her brothers Ernest (Mary) Williams, Elder Johnny (Edna) Williams, Milton (Jackie) Williams, Fredrick (Karen) Williams, Leonard (Eunice) Williams, eight sisters Lenora Bates, Maggaline Schneidmuller, Veronica (Mark) Parrish, Gayle (Ronald) Perry, Earlene (Archie) Johnson, Luvenia Johnson, Daisy (Raymond) Willis, Alveria (Edward) Fullard.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bishop Earnest and Daisy Williams, Brothers George Williams, James Williams, sister Elouise Ashe, daughter Gloria Shuman, and her great-grandson Dairyress Shuman.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 9:30-10:30 at Albany Church of God of Prophecy Inc., 774 Madison Ave, Albany, NY 12206. A funeral service will follow at 10:30. Interment will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
