Albany- Cordi J. Elizabeth, Our beloved mother Elizabeth "Betty" Cordi peacefully passed away surrounded by family at the Teresian House Nursing Home on Monday, March 6 at the age of 90. Born December 26, 1932 in Hudson, NY, the daughter of the late Hermann Lorenz (Americanized to Lawrence) and Etta Mae Hoose.
Raised in Stottville, NY, she met her husband Frank Cordi Jr at a dance in Albany at the age of 17 and the two wed within the year. The couple made their life in Albany and through their 52 years together they created a beautiful life as loving parents, honest hard workers and business owners and dependable friends. The love of her life passed in July 2003. Mom honored their vow to each other every day and looks forward to their reunion
She was born into and had a simple life, yet made and gave so much to so many. Mom's humor, healing embraces, green thumb, love-filled cooking and unceasing selflessness were her commitment to protecting and providing for her family, always prioritizing their needs above her own. Mom's strength and joy of living was with her until the end, never allowing hardship to harden her gentle heart. She personified a wife's devotion, a mother's love and a parent's hopes. Her family endeavors to honor her by celebrating her goodness in all we do and living our lives in her adoring legacy.
Elizabeth is predeceased by her brothers, Herman, Carlton (Buddy), and Clifton Lawrence.
