Elizabeth Grounds

BETHLEHEM- Elizabeth Grounds, 81, of North Bethlehem, passed away on Monday July 30, 2007 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center.
She was the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Calhoun. Born in Greenock Scotland, she came to the United States in November of 1946 on the Queen Elizabeth to marry her wartime sweetheart. She was a member of the Daughters of Scotia-Lady MacRae Lodge # 212, Eastern Star Chapter # 12 and Nathaniel Adams Blanchard American Legion Post 1040 shuffleboard league. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, knitting, reading, swimming and spending time with her loving family
Elizabeth was predeceased in February of this year by her beloved husband of 60 years, Milton H. Grounds. She is the beloved mother of Betty (Lou) Schenck of E. Berne, Ellen (Greg) Hawk of Coppell, TX., Bonnie (John) Jasniewski of E. Berne and Heather (Eli) Rudisill of Selinsgrove, PA. She is the cherished grandmother of Jeffrey Schenck, Matthew Hawk, Leah Jasniewski (John Fleming), Andrea Jasniewski, Kaitlyn Jasniewski, Kevin Grimm and Steven Grimm. Great grandmother of Skyllar Fleming.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning, August 4th at 9:30 at Bethany Reformed Church, 760 New Scotland Ave, Albany. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 pm at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery. At the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany. 445 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave).
