GUILDERLAND – Elizabeth "Betty" Freibauer passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2013 due to advanced Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Albany, NY on July 2, 1928. Betty worked in the Albany City School District for over twenty years and was a generous and caring volunteer in her community. She loved songwriting, singing, reading and spending time with her family.


Betty is survived by her two sons, Larry and John Freibauer and their families, which include five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Ann Magee and a brother, Jim Fordley their families and the families of her other siblings who previously passed on.


Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern NY at www.alz.org in memory of Betty Freibauer.
