Elizabeth "Betty" Johnson
Albany-
Elizabeth "Betty" Johnson, 86, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018 with family by her side. Born in Albany, Betty was the daughter of the late Harvey and Anna (Male) Lappeus. She was the devoted wife to the late Lester T. Johnson. They were married many years until his passing in June 1991.
For 38 years, Betty was employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield in Slingerlands, where she retired from.
In her youth, Betty played basketball and was an avid bowler. In her later years she enjoyed cards and BINGO during her time at the Atria and Teresian House. Although she retired from basketball in her later years, she never missed a game on TV.
Survived by her nieces Linda, Nancy and Gayle, as well as nephews and great nephews and a great niece.
In keeping with Betty's wishes, there will be no funeral service or calling hours.
Private Interment will take place in Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie.
The family wishes to thank the 5th floor staff on A wing of the Teresian House for their care and dedication shown to Betty over the years. We appreciate and acknowledge those who are Betty's special friends who helped her everyday with tasks and provided companionship.
