Schenectady- Elizabeth (Peggy) Ann Kardos, 79, of Schenectady, passed away on March 19, 2017.
She was born in Lake Placid, NY, on July 14, 1937 to the late Harry & Marion Williams, and moved to Schenectady with her blessed Aunt Sue and Uncle Frank Valentine in 1950. On July 16, 1966, Peggy married her husband Joseph Kardos, and they shared 50 years united in marriage until her passing. Peggy worked for New York State Teachers Retirement System and Davis Vision until she retired in 1997. She loved doing all types of crafts, making blankets for the new arrivals, dolls for all the seasons, gloves, scarves, and doing puzzles.
She is survived by her daughters, Robyn August of Clifton Park, Margaret (Joseph) Bonitatibus of Schenectady, Debra (Paul) Stewart of Halfmoon, and Nancy (David) Blyth of Schenectady, daughter in law, Denise August of West Palm Beach, 12 grand children, Melissa Willis, Corine Bonitatibus, James LaVoie, Christina Archambeault, Trishia Weldon, Tara Bedsaul, Gavin, and Samantha Stewart, Ashleigh, and Carissa August, James, and Tabetha Fredenburg, 13 great grand children, sister, Luella Edwards of Schenectady, brother in law, Tracy Estes of Florida, brother, Wendall (Eileen) Williams of Ballston Spa, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son John August Jr., 3 brothers, Bill, Lee and Gordon Williams, and 3 sisters, Winifred Baker, Stella Fowler, and Margaret Estes.
At the request of Peggy, a memorial service will be held at Carmen United Methodist Church, 2350 Hamburg Street, Schenectady, NY, on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, Peggy has requested contributions to be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or to American Lung Association.
