LATHAM - Elizabeth "Betty" Richmond, 85, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at the Eddy Heritage House in Troy surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born on June 17, 1939 in Cohoes and was the daughter of the late Everett and Margaret Degen.
Betty worked as a supervisor in the outpatient registration department at Albany Memorial Hospital for over 20 years, before retiring in 2005. She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, playing various card games, and going to casinos, but most especially spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by her loving children, Lisa (Edward) Cehowski, Karen (Thomas) Cox, Stephen (Antonia) Richmond, Matthew (Wendy) Richmond, Eric (Linda) Richmond and Elizabeth (James) DeCrescenzo and her siblings, Dorothy (Gerald) Hughes, Helen (Chris) Degen, Diana Adams, and Douglas (Susan) Degen. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Almeron J. Richmond and her brothers, John Degen, Everett Degen and David Degen.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Heritage House and Community Hospice for the great care given to Betty.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet Shaker Road, Latham. Inurnment to follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watervliet.
