Elizabeth Rose Cox

SLINGERLANDS – On October 16, 2012, Elizabeth Rose "Bette" Cox left this world to be reunited with her beloved husband and the love of her life, Robert W. Cox, and her parents, Anna and Alton Hawes. Bette was born on June 28, 1928 in Albany.

Bette is the loving mother of Barbara A. Cox of Albany, Robert W. (Tari) Cox of Colonie and Susan (Jack) Houghtaling of Troy. She is the devoted sister of Ronald Hawes of Duanesburg. Bette is survived by seven grandchildren who adored their Nana, Karen (Patrick) McGarry, Katie (Lou) Horan, Sara (Jason) Dube', Cori Cox, Brittany Cox, Kelly Houghtaling and Joseph Houghtaling. Her great-grandchildren brought their Nana great joy: Gracie and Ava Dube' and Taylor, Olivia and Maggie Horan. Also surviving are her loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.


Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. At the request of the family and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern NY, 4 Pinewest Plaza #405, Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Elizabeth R. Cox.
