Elizabeth M. Schmidt (Liz), 38, of Feura Bush, NY was swept up into a great Love on May 2, 2023 at St Peter's Hospital in Albany. Liz was born on November 11, 1984 at St Peter's and grew up in Athens, NY.
She graduated from Coxsackie Athens High School and SUNY Albany. She was very athletic and played center on the girl's varsity basketball team in addition to playing on the Field Hockey team. Liz loved to swim, ski, and even loved boxing. She spent many summers in Cape Cod at her Nanas house and loved going to the beaches there.
Most recently, she loved going to the camp she shared on Sacandaga Lake with her boyfriend, Kurt. She found great solace there and enjoyed watching Gigi swim.
Liz was predeceased by her brother, Martin Schmidt, her maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Rosman, "Nana", and her paternal grandparents, Edith Coons and Fred Schmidt.
She is survived by her adoring mother, Phyllis Schmidt and Phyllis's longtime partner, Mark First, both of Ballston Spa and her father, Laurence Schmidt of Ecuador, her sister Abigail Morrison of Scotia, NY and niece and nephew Sophia and Aidan Morrison. She also leaves behind her loving partner, Kurt Chandley of Feura Bush and "Gigi", her beloved Golden Retriever who was always by her side, as well as her lifelong friends MacKenzie Wallace of St Petersburg, Fl and Nicole Pascuzzi of Slingerlands.
Services will private.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society 3 Oakland Ave, Menands NY.
