ALBANY:
Ellen R. Sagendorph, age 80, of the Village of Colonie, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2022, after a courageous twenty year battle with cancer. She is now at peace with the Lord.
Ellen was born June 26, 1942 in Queens, NY, the daughter of Karl and Erna (Weiss) Sieck from Germany. She graduated from Albany High School, class of 1960. Ellen was united in marriage to Albert J. Sagendorph in 1967. When she was not a stay-at-home mother, she was a bank teller for many years.
Ellen was an amazing and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She consistently gave of herself and was very thoughtful to everyone else. Throughout the years, she loved trips, vacations and cruises with family and friends. She was a lifelong die-hard Yankees fan and she enjoyed many trips to Yankee Stadium with family and friends. This included surprise birthday trips and girls-weekends to NYC. She had a strong Christian faith and was a devoted member of Loudonville Community Church, where she often volunteered at Vacation Bible School, the food pantry and nursery.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 55 wonderful years, Albert, their three grateful children, Sheri, Jim and Kevin (Natacha), three grandchildren, Jason, Dalaney and Justus, sister, Eleanor Ross, brother, Tom Sieck, sister-in-law, Joan Sieck, cousins, nieces, nephews and great close family friends.
Ellen's husband and children would like to thank all of the dedicated family and friends that visited her, and supported all of us, during the many ups-and-downs this past year. We would also like to thank the wonderful doctors and staff at NYOH.
Romans 8:38-39. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Loudonville Community Church
