March 7, 1943 — August 11, 2020
Watervliet- Elsa Acevedo, 77, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2020. Born in Puerto Rico she was the daughter of Rogelio & Paula Colon. She is predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Jorge Acevedo.
Elsa was an avid New York Yankee fan since she was a young woman. She truly enjoyed taking her kids as well as their friends to the Yankee games and keeping score of the entire game on her own scorecard. She loved to dance, laugh and always being around family. She enjoyed her Coors Light & Castillo white rum. Elsa loved to play solitaire, her puzzle books and was a strong competitor at dominos. She was always spunky & had a comeback for every remark thrown at her. She adored her family & friends both near and far.
She is survived by her 11 children and countless grandchildren & great grandchildren. Also by all of the other beautiful people she called her own.
Calling hours will be on Monday, August 17, 2020 from 4-7 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189.
The funeral services will be on Tuesday August 18, 2020 at 11am also at New Comer in Latham, followed by a burial ceremony at Elmwood Hills Cemetery in Troy,NY.
