GUILDERLAND- Elsie M. Constable, 82, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
Elsie was born in Albany, NY to the late Andrew and Ruth Johnston on August 17, 1934. In 1954 Elsie married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Constable. In August they would have celebrated their 63rd anniversary. Together they had six children. Elsie will be remembered for her love of reading, bowling, and going boating with her husband. Her passion in life was her family.
Elsie is predeceased by her son, John Thomas, her brother, Ronald Johnston, and her daughter-in-law, Deborah Constable.
She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas, her children; Joanne (Douglas) May, David Constable, Andrew Constable, Eletha (Jim) Ware, and Ken (Laura) Constable, her 12 grandchildren, her 16 great-grandchildren, her sister, Betty Jane Hebert, her sister-in-law, Patricia Johnston, her beloved dog, Bear, and a host of family, friends, nieces, and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, Colonie, Chapel, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 11:00am-1:00pm with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
Due to health concerns the family asks that in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Elsie's name to the Ronald McDonald House, 139 S Lake Ave, Albany, NY 12208
