Emanuel Pompey

TROY – Emanuel "Bobby" Pompey, 67, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2012 and went home to join his loved ones. Born in Manning, SC he was the son of the late Wesley and Estelle Pompey. Bobby lived in Troy for most of his life. He worked for Allied Bendix in Green Island, retiring after thirty years of service. A well know Barbeque Master to many, he also enjoyed gardening and was an avid New York Yankees fan. Bobby is the beloved husband of forty-six years to Betty Pompey. He is the devoted father of Robert Pompey and his fiancé, Tina and Eleana Allen and her husband, Reginald all of Troy and the late Loretta Pompey. He is the cherished grandfather of En'Dasia Pompey, Ayanna and Ahmad Allen and the late Robert "Shorty" Pompey Jr. Bobby is the loving brother of Lillie Mae Pompey of Troy. Also surviving is his partner and Road Dog, Mr. Freddie Tyson and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, daughter and grandson, he was also predeceased by six brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 2165 Fifth Ave., Troy. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
