Albany- Emerica T. (Magnolia) Bennett, 84, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peters Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Italy she was the daughter of the late Carlo and Marion Magnolia. Emerica was employed as the head cashier at Montgomery Ward in Menands for a number of years. Emerica was a communicant for 20 years at the House of Praise in Schodack. She was a member of the Western Turnpike Women's Golf League, and the Playdium Bowling League. In her free time she enjoyed her garden, animals and horseback riding. Emerica is predeceased by her son William Patrick Bennett, her brother Carl Magnolia, and two sisters, Mary Wiley and Angelina Magnolia.
Emerica is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Charles W. Bennett of Albany, her cherished children, Jeffrey A. Bennett and his wife Joan, John F. Bennett, Mark A. Bennett and his wife Leisha, Patricia Coyle and her husband Daniel, Susan Kuhlmeier and her husband Carl and Deborah Bennett. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Betty Ann Bennett, 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:30 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Emerica T. Bennett.
