TROY – Emie Louise (Ma-chu-chu) Ninstant, passed away peacefully into eternal rest at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Emie was born in Haiti and moved to the United States in July, 1969. She retired from Successful Inc. in Tappan, NJ. Family meant the world to her and she spent the rest of her years being a homemaker and taking care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Emie enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, sewing, walking, listening and dancing to music and enjoying the outdoors. She was a very active swimmer in her younger years. During the holiday season, Emie would make presents and cook for the neighborhood children. Emie was the loving wife of sixty-five years to Rene' Ninstant until his passing.
She is the beloved mother of Eddie Ninstant of Nyack, NY, Maryse (Wilner) Chardonet of Garnerville, NY, Mirza (Pierre) Ninstant-Sandaire of Rensselaer, NY, Patrick Ninstant of Albany, NY, Marie Leger of Albany, NY, Guy (Casharon) Ninstant of Castleton, NY, Serge (Sherry) Ninstant of Troy, NY and Kevin (Michelle) Ninstant of Troy, NY. Also surviving are twenty-nine grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren that adored and cherished her. In addition to her husband, Emie was predeceased by two loving daughters, Geanette St. Rose and Marie Therese Morissett and her two cherished grandsons, Harold and Michael Leger.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to St. John the Evangelist & St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 50 Herrick St., Rensselaer, NY 12144 at 9:30 a.m. where the Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 15 Tech Valley Drive, Suite 4, East Greenbush, NY 12061 in memory of Emie L. Ninstant.
