Emily E. Czernicki, 77, of Schenectady, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 29, 2009.
Emily was born in Albany, and was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Faas. Emily attended St. Joseph's elementary school and then continued her education at Vincentian Institution. She worked for St. Clare's Hospital as a Unit Secretary for over 32 years, prior to, she worked at General Mutual Insurance in Albany. Emily enjoyed Volunteering with the Red Cross at the Veterans Hospital where she met her husband of over 50 years, Frank. She also loved singing in the choir at both St. Paul the Apostle Church and St. Patrick's in Albany and with The Sweet Adalines. She also worked with St. Paul the Apostle School.
Emily is survived by her husband Frank, she is the loving mother of Frank, Patrick (Marie) and Amy Coons. She is the cherished grandmother of Andrew, Bethany and Sara Czernicki, Kayla and Bryan Coons and Jeanette Roach and great-granddaughter Jainaizia McGowan. She is also survived by her sisters, Marcella delPrado, Ann Whimple and Marie Martone, her brother, Robert Faas and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be Monday at 8:15am from New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Paul the Apostle Church, Schenectady where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 am. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home. Interment will be at Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
