LOUDONVILLE~ Emma Agnese (Acerra) Diana, 86, passed away on October 17, 2021.
Emma was the daughter of the late Antonio Acerra and Annunziata Fasci of Caiazzo, Italy. She was born New Year's Day 1935 and immigrated to the United States in 1956 after her marriage to her husband Primo, and proceeded to raise and provide for her family.
Emma held various jobs as a seamstress, at times creating her own patterns and clothing. She worked tirelessly at the family-owned business Primo's Prime Meat Market in Albany for over 18 years with her husband and children.
Emma was a devoted homemaker who always had something cooking for everyone. No one ever went hungry when they came to the Diana house and she delighted in having guests to feed. Christmas Eve was always a special night when family & guests gathered for the "Feast of the 7 Fishes" and those memories will always be cherished by all. Emma adored her rose bushes and enjoyed tending to her flowerbeds and vegetable gardens.
Emma is survived by her husband of 65 years, Primo; her five children, Frank Diana (Diane Leary) of Glenmont, Sergio (Beth Diana) of Colonie, Rose Diana of Loudonville; Stephen Diana of Albany, and Michael (Martha Runnette) of Westminster, Colorado. "Nana D" is also survived by her dear grandson, Matthew Diana. She will also be missed by her special friend, Sammy the Schnoodle.
The Diana family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all who helped care for Emma over the years with professionalism and compassion including Dr. Samuel Volo, Dr. Frank Cavaliere, Dr. Sabiha Friedrich, and all the wonderful staff at St. Peter's Hospital. We would also like to thank the many home health aides who worked tirelessly to make our mother as comfortable and happy as possible to remain in her home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date.
