Schenectady— Emma (Pastor) Petrucco, 94, affectionately known as Betty to her family and friends, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2012 after a short illness.
Emma was born on April 16, 1918 in Schenectady to the late George and Emma Brown and had lived in Schenectady all of her life. She was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. Emma graduated from the Schenectady Hospital Association's Training School for Nurses at Ellis Hospital on November 3, 1940 and worked as a nurse for many years. Emma was a dedicated employee of the Carl Company department store until 1982. She worked for the State of New York in the Tax and Finance department and retired in 1992. Emma was a communicant of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Niskayuna, NY.
Emma was predeceased by her husband, Kasmir Pastor in 1957. She is survived by three sons, Alan M. Pastor (Patricia) of Maryville, TN, Charles J. Pastor (Mary) of Warrensburg, and David L. Pastor (Stella) of Niskayuna. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Stacey Pastor, Alan Pastor Jr., Charles Pastor Jr., Yvonne (Pastor) Powers, and Genevieve (Pastor) Arcovio. Emma is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A calling hour will precede the service from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park, Rotterdam. Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church at 1850 Union Street, Niskayuna, NY in memory of Emma Pastor Petrucco.
