Mother Benson was born Emma Jane Rorie on March 12, 1922 in Wadesboro, NC and later relocated to Albany, NY. She was predeceased by her husband Morris Benson and son Willie K. Harris, Jr.
She is survived by her, children, Effie (Mahlon) Boyer, Los Angeles, CA, Minnie (James) Brown, Rensselaer, NY, Mary Jane Harris, Richmond, CA, Shirley Harris, Silver Spring, MD, Roger Lee Harris, Schenectady, NY, Walter Ray Harris and George D. Poole, Jr., Albany, NY, Sonda Poole and Michelle Bartee, Rensselaer, NY; sister Mother Lottie Bradley, Albany, NY, step-children Queenie Splunge, Lily Adeline Birmingham, Albany, NY, Alice LaFayette, North Carolina, Buddy McMorris Benson, Ida Belle Freeman, Alabama, pre-deceased by Pearl Moulton Fred Benson and Jonathan Benson, Alabama, 30 grands, many great and great great grands, step-grands, step-great-grands, and a host of relatives and friends.
Viewing 10:00 am, Saturday, January 29th, Mt. Olive Southern Missionary Baptist Church, 236 N. Pearl Street. Going Home Celebration 11:00 am at Church. Interment at Graceland Cemetery.
