Emma L. Schliessman

September 8, 1924 — May 30, 2012

Emma Louise Schliessman, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at her home surrounded by her adored family. She was born in Moriches, Long Island to the late Augustus and Beatrice Wilson. Emma loved life; her smile lit up the room any room she walked into. Her family was her pride and joy. They shared her happiest moments. She loved doing crafts, shopping, gardening and helping others.

Emma is survived by her loving husband of over 66 years, Lawrence F. Schliessman Sr.; her four children Louise J. Schliessman, Lawrence F. Schliessman Jr., Christine S. Murphy, Cheryl W. Schliessman, her son-in-law Timothy Murphy and daughter-in-law Ruth Gaul Schliessman. She is the cherished grandmother of Heather Fogg, Holly Minisce, Jason Motto, Philip Parisi, Courtney Minisce, Kevin Parisi, Joshua Motto, Jared Minisce, Jeffrey Parisi, Clarissa Schliessman, Aseia Schliessman, Angela Murphy and Kyle Murphy. Emma is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Helen Wilson and her adored pug Champ and Shih tzu, Amber.

Memorial contributions may be made the American Heart Association 440 New Karner Rd., Albany NY 12205 or to the Communtiy Hospice of Albany County 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in Emma's memory.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumpter Ave., Albany 12203.
