Albany- Emma J. "Dolly" (Boyd) Zembo, 80, passed away suddenly at home, on Saturday, August 18, 2007. Born in Albany she was the daughter of the late David T. and Ruth Boyd. After the passing of her husband George J. Zembo, Sr, Dolly worked as a file clerk for the NYS Dept. of Correctional Services for 23 years. She was an avid bowler, participating in the D.O.C.S. Olympics. She loved Bingo, Crossword Puzzles, trips to the casino and the occasional card game with family and friends. Dolly is predeceased by her son William F. Zembo, her brothers; David, Douglas, Archibald and Richard Boyd, and her sister Naomi Hemstreet.
Dolly is survived by her beloved children; Marilyn (Bill) Day of Colonie and George J. (Heidi) Zembo of Gansevoort, her cherished grandchildren; Kristen and Adrian Day, Matthew (Kate) Zembo, Christine (Chad) Herrick and William A. Zembo, and her four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters; Helen Willey of Westmere and Lenora "Tootie" Antis of Gloversville and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 PM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association 85 Watervliet Avenue, Albany, NY 12206 or the Still Point Interfaith Retreat Center, 20 Still Point Road, Mechanicville, NY 12118, in memory of Emma "Dolly" Zembo.
