Eric K. Meyette

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Eric K. Meyette, age 35, of Cohoes, NY on January 8th, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. Eric was a graduate of Guilderland High School class of 2004. He made many friends there that he called family and a heart big enough to hold them all. Eric went on to work at the Marriott assisting in the kitchen and learning many techniques that he went on to later use while working as a cook for Siena and Albany Russell Sage Colleges. Later on Eric worked for DOCC for NYS before and during his diagnosis and treatment.

Eric was passionate about his family and friends. Eric enjoyed cooking, getting tattoos, taking road trips and spending time listening to music and making memories. Eric's favorite job was becoming a husband and a devoted father. Eric had a wildly contagious smile and always looked for the adventure in each new day. Whether quoting a 1-liner, a song lyric or cracking a joke Eric's soft demeanor and infectious laughter was comfort to all. Eric never knew a stranger and made everyone feel welcome. Eric was so much more than his struggles. He would give you anything, even if it wasn't his to give. Eric was the first to say, "Let's get together" and the last to tell you to go home. Eric's memory will live on within the many lives that he touched.

In addition to his parent's Jennifer Meyette and Howard Meyette (Darcy) Eric is also survived by his beloved son Brayden Meyette, wife Kristina Meyette and step-sons Jacob and Carter Erecacho. Also, by his sister's Mariah Meyette and Melissa Helm (Jaime) and goddaughter Peyton Helm, and his chosen brother Ron Swenson (Jackie) and niece Callie Swenson. Also, by his maternal Grandmother Donna Heald and Paternal Grandmother Gladys Sears (Frank) and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, NY on Friday, January 14th, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, January 15th, 2022 at 10am with burial to follow the service at Memory Gardens, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
