ALBANY - Ernest "Fatty" Brooks, 75 entered into eternal life on June 9, 2016.
He was born on May 27, 1941 to Ernest and Lucille (Mc Reynolds) Brooks in Cincinnati, OH.
He attended Robert A. Taft High School and he played on the Senators baseball team. He was a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Reds. He loved drinking coffee, drinking a diet coke, a honey bun with bologna and his favorite spaghetti dinner. Fatty always played his lottery numbers and never missed a day.
He was a kind, happy and giving man who was devoted to his family always putting others before himself. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
Ernest is survived by his children,Theresa (Aubrie) Headly, Lisa Daniels, Lanee Whitbeck, Nikki Brooks, Roshanda (Wilton) Johnson, Ernest Brooks Jr., Ernestshayia Brooks and Nye'Kieme Brooks, brothers and sisters, Arthur (Kathy) Brooks, Reba (Mark) Bowels, John Chaney, Willie (Carol) Chaney, James Chaney, Matthew (Jeanette) Chaney and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased in death by his parents Ernest and Lucille, sisters, Lucille Brooks, Shirley Ware and Willa Mae Chaney.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from 4-6 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205. A home going celebration will begin at 6pm on Wednesday. Burial will take place on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 10am at Graceland Cemetery, 680 Delaware Ave., Albany, NY 12209.
