Ernest C. Cave, Jr.

January 30, 1918 — August 7, 2012

Ernest C. Cave, Jr., 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Lutheran Nursing Home. Ernest was born in Albany to the late Ernest and Mattie Cave. Ernest proudly served with the United States Army during WWII. He was an avid bowler, he loved fishing, he was a Boy Scout leader, a member of the VFW Post 119, he was certified for the Ham Radio, and was a diesel truck mechanic with Red Star until he retired in 1984.

Ernest is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Edna (Weinberg) Cave. He is the cherished father of, Martha Eates and Phyllis (Thomas) Brady. He is the beloved grandfather of Dr. James Perkins, Jr., MD, Nicolas "Nino" Sage and Kachina Eates. He is also the great grandfather of Camille and Elijah Sage and Roman Harris.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. A calling hour will precede the service from 9:30 to 10:30 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Memory's Garden, Colonie.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Northeastern New York, Pine West Plaza, Bldg. 4, Suite 405 Washington Ave. Ext. Albany, NY 12205 in Ernest's memory.
