GUILDERLAND - Ernest "Ernie" C. Ziobrowski Sr., 93, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness.
Ernie was born on May 11, 1915 in Schenectady and was the son of the late Vincent W. and Sarah (Sandowski) Ziobrowski. He worked for General Electric as a machinist retiring after 41 years of service. He was a member of the Elks and GE Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed wood working and spending time at Great Sacandaga Lake.
Ernie is survived by his wife of 13 years, Margaret Sponable; his sons, Ernest C. (Diane) Ziobrowski Jr. of Scotia and William V. (Maryann) Ziobrowski of Clifton Park; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife of 58 years, Genevieve Tooley Ziobrowski and his brothers, Vincent and Francis Ziobrowski.
A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Schenectady. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
