Estella Small Wallace passed away suddenly and peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2020. Estella was born on March 16, 1943, in Conway, SC to the late
Robert Small, Sr. and Eloise Small. She was a student at Whittemore High School in Conway, SC., and relocated to Troy, NY after her studies. In Troy, Estella was employed at Marshall Ray and later worked for the Rensselaer County Health Department. She became a member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Troy in the 60s. On February 13, 1965, Estella was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Canty (Buster) Wallace, and to this union, two children were born.
A remembrance of Estella would not be complete without mentioning her role as a beloved family historian who enjoyed cooking and baking for those she cared for.
A lover of long walks, Estella was well-known in her neighborhood and beyond as a kind and considerate person who was never afraid to speak her mind.
She also loved children (especially her nieces and nephews). She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and devoted children, two sons, Harold (Athena) Small, Schenectady, NY; Anthony Wallace, Troy, NY; and one daughter, Tiffani Wallace, Atlanta, GA; one stepson, Charles (Ann) Tucker, Moore, SC; four grandchildren, Emani Wallace, Riauna Carr, Nicholas Small, and Jeremey Tucker; one great-grandchild Cheyenne Tucker; two sisters-in-law, Hellen (Walter) Thompson, Greeleyville, SC, Shirley (Jasper) Holmes, Myrtle Beach, SC; one brother-in-law, Andrew Wallace, Troy, NY; two godsons, Sean Parker and Johnny Pompey III; three aunts, Eula Mae Gibbs, Myrtle Beach, SC, Leola Small, Myrtle Beach, SC, Margaret (Benjamin) Richardson, Myrtle Beach, SC; one uncle, Charles (Geneva) Small, Pawleys Island, SC; three "sister cousins" Christine Davis, Evelyn Small, and Charlena Myers; best friend Joyce Daniels; as well as several nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins, other relatives, and sorrowing friends.
Estella is preceded in eternal rest by three sisters, Eva Small, Patricia Small, and Libby Small; three brothers, Robert Small, Jr, Isaiah Small, and Patrick Small.
