GUILDERLAND- Etta May Currier Hutchins, 81, of Guilderland, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2008 at St. Peters Hospital. She was born in Montgomery, NY and was the daughter of the late William and Inez Mitchell.
Etta May was a talented designer, crafter and sports enthusiast, especially the Kentucky Derby. A beautiful woman of style and grace, she enjoyed raising her family and served as a foster parent for three children. Etta May laughed easily and basked in the pleasures of her family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Calvin Seeley Currier whom she lost at an early age, and Arnold L. Hutchins.
Etta May is the beloved mother of Barbara (John) Gregory of Slatersville, RI, Peggy (Walter) Breakell of Guilderland, Calvin (Joan) Currier of Albuquerque, NM and Wayne (Theresa) Currier of Lexington, KY. She is the cherished grandmother of Sean and Meredith Gregory, Walter, Douglas and Tina Breakell, Grace, Rene, Eric, Amanda, Zachary, and Hope Currier. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 11:00 at McKownville United Methodist Church, 1565 Western Ave. Guilderland. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 to 8 pm at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. At the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made to McKownville United Methodist Church, 1565 Western Ave. ALbany NY 12203 in memory of Etta May Hutchins.
