Guilderland – Eugene J. Audi, 74, died on Saturday, February 5, 2005 at the Albany Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.
Eugene was born on April 30, 1930 in Schenectady to the late Joseph and Jenny De Lorenzo Audi. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and attended Siena College.
Eugene owned and operated Eugene's Sidedoor Café in Albany with his son David. He was in the restaurant business for the past 47 years.
Eugene was an avid golfer, handball and racquetball player. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends in Pompano Beach FL.
Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Joan (Pagliuco) Audi of Guilderland, his two devoted sons, Mark E. Audi of Atlanta, GA and David J. Audi of Guilderland, his brother, Phil (Barbara) Audi of Clifton Park and several nieces and nephews.
Eugene's family wishes to extend sincere thanks and appreciation to the Doctors and staff at Albany Memorial Hospital for all their compassionate care and thoughtfulness.
Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday morning from the New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to Christ the King Church, Westmere, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The parish family of Christ the King Church will gather at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home for a service of prayer and remembrance. All are welcome.
