Eugene Cole

ALBANY-Eugene "Gene" E. Cole, 72, of Van Resselaer Blvd passed away on Monday, July 30, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital. He was born in Pitts, GA the son of the late Deacon Calvin and Mary McCormick Cole and has resided in Albany for most of his life. Gene retired in 2004 from Glenmont Job Corps. Academy as a Duty Officer. He was also Director of Arbor Hill Community Center and a US postal carrier for the Albany area. In addition, he also enjoyed spending time with the "Breakfast Club". Gene is survived by his significant other, Edee Ireland, of Albany, his children Wayne Cole, Sr. (Jennifer Stacey), of Menands, Jovette Cole Young (Austin), of Selkirk, Patricia Cole Green (Morris), of NJ, Dorothy Jean Cole, of Albany, and Faith Cole, of Albany, his stepson, Marcus Ford, of Albany, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, his sister, Vivian Leroy (David), of Albany, his brother, Calvin Cole, Jr., of Albany, a special cousin, Norma Chapman, of Albany and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Bruce Cole and a brother, Nelson Cole.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 9 to 11 AM at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, N. Pearl St. Albany with a funeral service immediately to follow at 11 AM at the church.
Interment will be at Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands
