Eugene E. Goessler

COLONIE- Eugene E. Goessler, 79, of Colonie, passed away on Thursday June 11, 2009 at the Inn of Community Hospice.
He was born in Pittsburgh, PA and was the son of the late Eugene and Nellie Goessler. Gene was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked for the Associated Press for 48 years and at Sears for 15 years. Gene was an American Kennel Club field training judge and Past President of the New Scotland Beagle club. He was a member of the Masonic Guttenberg Lodge, American Legion Post 1092 and the Colonie Village Kuhn Seniors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, poker and casinos.
Gene is the beloved husband of 52 years to Carol Wunsch Goessler. He is the devoted father of Robert Goessler, Jeanette Lanza, Brenda Sargalis, Steven Goessler and Patricia Goessler. He is the brother of Robert Goessler, Geraldine Egerman and Becky Novak Cherished grandfather of Mark Kornacewicz, Stacey and Zsanette Sargalis, Heather and Stephanie Lanza and Aaron Goessler. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Monday morning at 10:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 5 pm at the funeral home.
