Loudonville- Eugene "Gene" Hulett, 84, of Loudonville, New York, passed away on February 5, 2023, surrounded by family. He was born in Albany, NY to William and Elizabeth (Petrone) Hulett on October 18, 1938. He grew up in Albany, NY where he attended St. Mary's, Cathedral and La Salle schools. Afterward, he joined the U.S Marine Corps. Semper Fi! After the Marines, he worked in the janitorial field. He was last employed at Beverwyck retirement center in Slingerlands, NY.
Eugene was a devoted husband to Cathi (Moore) Hulett. As well as a father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Eugene especially loved being a great-grandfather to his little buddies.
Eugene loved spending time with his great-grandkids and playing jokes or tricks on them. He also enjoyed going out to dinner with his wife at the Blue ribbon. He loved his chihuahuas Isabella Rose and Bella Mia. He would sit out on his deck in the warm weather with his dogs, just soaking up the sun as we would say. Eugene also loved his sports. He was a die hard Yankees and Giants fan. If he wasn't watching sports, you could catch him watching wrestling with his bowl of popcorn and candy or his favorite old time classic shows in his favorite recliner. Gene was a coach and manager at Colonie little League, Babe Ruth and Senior Babe Ruth. He was involved in Colonie Pop Warner and was a Booster club member of the Colonie High School football team.
Eugene is survived by his wife Cathi (Moore) Hulett, his Brother Bobby (Barbra) Hulett, his children, Rhonda Telson, Eugene Hulett Jr.(Heidi), Anthony Hulett, Karen Zwack Hulett, Christopher Hulett, Kimberly Hulett Berthiaume (Michael), Nicholas Hulett (Tara). His grandchildren Jessica (Nigel) Kindlon, Rachel Kindlon, Anthony Hulett, Alexis, Savannah and Ryder Hulett. As well as his great-grandchildren Chase, Isaac, Bryson and Skyler Kindlon and his great-granddaughter who he couldn't wait to meet. As well as many niece's, nephews and cousins.
Eugene is predeceased by his parents, William and Elizabeth (Petrone) Hulett, his brother William (Sonny) Hulett, and his sister's Florence Johnson and Laura Oathout.
