ALBANY Eugene M. Smalls Jr., 81, of Albany, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2011 after a brief illness. He was born in Charleston, S.C. and was the son of the late Eugene and Wilhel-mina Smalls. Eugene was a resident of Albany for over 50 years. He retired from Jack's Oyster House after more than 35 years of service. He was a member of the International Free and Excepted Masons, Son's of Moses, Lodge #438 in Troy. Eugene leaves to mourn, his children, Anita (Michael) Williams, Denise Smalls, Christopher Smalls, Debra Goodrich, and Laverne Hudson; four siblings; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at 1:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
