Schenectady- Eugene "Jim" Patnaude, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August, 30th, at Ellis Residential and Rehabilitation Center.
Jim was born on March 11th, 1937 in Schenectady, NY. He was the son of the late Earl and Margaret Patnaude and the loving husband of the late Louise Patnaude.
Jim is predeceased by his siblings; Robert Gaudette, Constance Clough, and Lorna Fiore, and his son, Michael Robillard.
He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years Margaret "Peg" Patnaude, his children; James (Lucy), Robert (Kellie), Michael (Jessica) Patnaude, Linda Robillard, and Richard Robillard, his grandchildren; Kayla, Alexa, Mary Lou, Melissa, Emily, Claire, Tiffany, Katelynn, Richard, Chelsea, Dustin, Sheena, Chuckie, several Great Grandchildren and a host of friends and family.
Jim served his country during the Korean War as a U.S. Marine from 1954-1957 and received several commendations. He was an excellent athlete in his youth, and shared his love of sports with his sons as their coach at Northside Little League.
Jim had a great passion for music and was a 35 year member of his band "The Music Company" as their lead singer and bass player. He was a lifelong truck driver and worked for several companies including Red Kap and Leaseway Transportation. He was also a member of St. Kateri Parish and loved being involved with the church.
In recent years, Jim and his wife Peg have enjoyed spending their time together with family and friends. Peg provided immeasurable support to Jim and he will be forever in her heart.
Calling hours are on Friday September 5 from 4pm to 7pm at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday September 6 at 10am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Perish, 2216 Rosa Road, Schenectady. Interment will be at St. Josephs Cemetery, 100 Kings Road, Schenectady immediately following the Mass.
Donations in Jim's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Visit stjude.org to donate.
