Eugene L. Pratt
June 14, 1939 — April 15, 2021
Latham - Eugene L. Pratt, 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness with his family by his side. Eugene was the son of the late Charles and Helen Coonradt Pratt.
After high school Gene joined the Air Force and after his honorable discharge from the Service, he held several jobs prior to joining the Troy Police Department in 1968, in which he retired from in 1995.
Gene enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping and boating on Lake Champlain.
Gene is predeceased by his brothers Charles Pratt, Bruce Pratt and Edward Pratt.
He is survived by his brother Ronald Pratt; his children, Eugene Pratt (Melissa), Candace Marchese (Carmen), Terri Pratt, Jacqueline McDonald (Victor), Kimberly Munhall (John) and Brian Pratt; along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his good friend Dick Deo.
With respect to Gene's wishes, there will be no calling hours.
The family would like to thank the staff at Samaritan Hospital Progressive Care Unit for the care and respect given to Gene.
In memory of Gene's love of animals, the family requests that donations be made in Gene's name to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204.
