Eve M. Mattice

WEST SAND LAKE – Eve M. Mattice, 86, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing Home in North Greenbush.
Born in Essen, Germany, she was the loving wife of the late Philip C. Mattice; daughter of the late William and Johanna Kapteina and sister of the late Lois Cupo. She worked for the NYS Department of Tax and Finance for over 25 years. She enjoyed traveling – especially to Germany, Alaska, Hawaii, and California, taking day trips to local country side and enjoyed all things German. She loved spending time with her family and her beloved pets. Eve had a very strong and deep faith and was a member of the Sand Lake Baptist Church.
Eve is survived by her loving and devoted daughter and son-in-law, Jo-Anne and Wayne Mortimer of Averill Park and her nieces and nephews, Ernest, Heather and William Cupo, Gail (Helmers) Novak, Chris Helmers, and Robert and Thomas Aleksejczyk.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Memory Gardens in Colonie.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 or to Companion Animal Placement Program, 279 Troy Road, Suite 9, Rensselaer, NY 12144 in memory of Eve.
