LOUDONVILLE - Eveline M. Farrigan, 91, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland.
Eveline was born in Alburg, Vermont and was the daughter of the late Victor and Theresa (Martin) Gervais. She graduated in 1944 from St. Peter's Hospital School of Nursing. She was a nurse for many years at St. Peter's Hospital until she became an educator at St. Ann Institute for many more years before retiring.
She married Paul N. Farrigan in 1946. After Paul's service to our country, they raised their four children in Loudonville. Eveline and Paul enjoyed many years vacationing in Cape Cod. They were communicants of St. Pius X Church in Loudonville for many years. Her greatest joy in this world came from the love of her family. They always came first to her.
Eveline is the devoted mother of Richard (Deborah) P. Farrigan of Colonie, Gary (Dee) J. Farrigan of Latham, and the late Susan Farrigan Cook and Christine Farrigan; the loving grandmother of Christopher (Barbara) Cook of Philadelphia, Paul (Pamela) Farrigan of Loudonville, Craig (Kirsten) Cook of Saratoga, Wendy (Matthew) Press of Colonie, and Angela (Matthew) Shortle of Latham and the adored great grandmother of Gillian Farrigan, Laura Farrigan, Maden Press, Deborah and Emily Farrigan, and Conor, Benjamin and Adam Cook and her loving niece, Peggy Taylor of Latham. She is also survived by her son-in-law, William Cook of Queensbury and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, Paul N. Farrigan; her brother, André Gervais and her sister, Rita Amodeo.
Relatives and friends are invited at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, then to St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Memory Gardens in Colonie.
