Albany- Evelyn F. LeCuyer (Bohl) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn F LeCuyer (Bohl) on July 22, 2023 . She was 101 years young. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late William L Bohl, and Anna Bohl (Troy).
Evelyn (Lyn) was predeceased by her brother William Bohl II, her sister Josephine Tierney, and her beloved daughter, JoAnn Paulette LeCuyer.
Lyn loved her career at the New York Telephone Company, retiring from AT & T after 31 years. She was also a proud member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. While working her way up to management, she mentored many, and made numerous lifelong friends. She is survived by many of these friends, as well as her friend and caretaker, Deborah Bremm.
Lyn was known for being impeccably dressed and stunning. She is also remembered for being a talented cook, throwing lavish dinner parties to entertain her friends. She was kind and generous to a fault. The adversities that she faced and overcame in her life only made her love life more. Those of us who were blessed to call her our friend, didn't realize that she was adopting us to be part of her forever family.
Her family also included the management, staff and residents at Millview Assisted Living Residence in Cohoes, where she spent the last three years of her life. They gave her purpose, kindness, and companionship.
We would also like to thank the staff in the ER and the 5th floor at Samaritan Hospital in Troy for their care and compassion at a difficult time.
Lyn was a huge fan of Frank Sinatra. She said "I had a long and happy life" and as Frank would say, "I did it my way".
A graveside service will be held Monday, July 31 2023, at 12:30, at St John Lutheran Cemetery, 303 Sand Creek Road, Albany, NY 12205. In lieu of flowers donations, can be made to the Interstitial Cystitis Association 7918 Jones Branch Drive Ste 300 McClean, VA 22102, or to the charity of your choosing.
