LOUDONVILLE – Evelyn M. Decker, of Loudonville, died peacefully at home on Sunday, June 12, 2005. Born in Albany on June 3, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Ernest L. and Mary Hinkel Decker. Evelyn worked as a bookkeeper for her father's business, the Albany Saw Works and then for Honingsbaum's. She was a communicant of St. Pius X Church in Loudonville. Evelyn is survived by her son, Edward, her nieces, Marylyn and Bernadette deGonzague, her nephew, Louis deGonzague and his wife, Jill, and their son, Ben. Even at the age of 94, Evelyn brought joy to her family with her quick wit and sense of humor.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, Loudonville. Interment will be in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont. Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurses Foundation, (Patient Need Fund), 35 Colvin Ave., Albany, NY 12206 in memory of Evelyn M. Decker.
