Colonie- Evelyn M. Dragon, 99, of Colonie, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017 at home with her family at her side.
Born on August 7, 1918 in Chazy, New York; a daughter of the late William and Eva Martin Brown.
Evelyn enjoyed vacationing at Lake Champlain with her husband and family; she loved to knit and crochet. Her greatest passion was taking care of her family, especially her adoring grandchildren who nicknamed her "Gram." Evelyn was also a member of the Schenectady Senior Citizens.
Evelyn is predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard J. Dragon; it was a loving union of 70 years until his passing in 2010; her son, Wayne Dragon (daughter in law, Elaine);.
She is survived by her son, Marvin (Rick); grandchildren, Christopher, Lisa (Gary), David, Michael (Alea), Jeffrey (Amiee), Scott (Michelle), Michelle (Ralph), Wayne Jr. (Karen) and Diane (Matthew); sister, Beverly DeFreest and the late, Ione and Joan, ; brothers, Kenneth and Emile (Barbara) Brown and the late, Ansle, George, Leon, Bill and Herbert. Evelyn is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours for Evelyn will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 5pm until 8pm at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY, 12205. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am at Christ our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville, NY, 12211. Burial will follow at 2pm at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Chazy, NY.
