Evelyn G. Burnside

Evelyn Grace Burnside, age 78 of Westerlo, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Albany Medical Center. She was born to the late Jay Camp and Melissa Bolton on January 8, 1938.
Evelyn attended Cherry Valley High School. She married the love of her life, Edgar Burnside. Evelyn's love for children was exemplified by her 25 years of dedicated service as a teacher's aide at Early Childhood Education Center.
The Red Cardinal was Evelyn's favorite bird and it symbolizes love and relationship which is also a representation of Evelyn herself. Family and friends were Evelyn's passion and joy. She is remembered by all who knew her for her loving and caring heart. Evelyn enjoyed doing arts and craft to include making Halloween customs for her children, painting ceramics, making holiday decorations and knitting gifts for family and friends. Evelyn was a strong, spirited and passionate woman who will be missed by all who knew her.
Evelyn is survived by her sisters, Pearl Travis and Judy Hafford, her four children, Mark Burnside (Sally Burnside), Kathy Burnside, Stephen Burnside (Amie Burnside), Marie Colucci (Nicholas Colucci) , two stepsons, George Burnside (Nancy Burnside) and Jim Burnside (Sally Burnside), five grandchildren, Alicia Staubus, Trevor Burnside, Skylar Sisson, Amber Sisson, Gracie Sisson, and two great grandchildren Ava Staubus and Ella Staubus. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.
Memorial visitation will be from 4 pm to 6:30 pm on Monday, June 13, 2016 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A memorial service will follow at 6:30pm.
