Evelyn M. Thompson

Evelyn (Lightsey) Thompson departed this life suddenly on May 9, 2012. She was born on March 21, 1917 to the late George and Grace Thompson. She was married to Sylvester Lightsey who preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her granddaughter Frances Ross, two sisters and five brothers.

She is survived by her only daughter Phyllis Thompson of Albany, NY; her sister Gertrude Heard of Albany, NY; her grandchildren, Doretha (Jerry) Tolliver of Baltimore, MD., David Lumpkin Jr., of Albany, NY, Sylvester Lumpkin of Lithonia, GA., Tarita (Lance) Ray of Troy, NY. She also leaves to cherish her memories 15 great-grandchildren, 42 great-great grandchildren and 11 great-great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 6pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 4 to 6 at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
