Evelyn E. MacMillen, 101, formerly of Winne Rd., Delmar, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Ellis Rehab. Center with her loving family by her side. She was a lifelong area resident.
Evelyn was born in Albany, NY on May 13, 1915 and was the daughter of the late Ernest Fink and Mabel (Loucks) Fink.
She attended schools in Albany. Evelyn was the devoted wife to the late Kermit J. MacMillen, Sr. who passed away on October 23, 2001 after 68 years of marriage.
During WWII Evelyn was employed by Winthrop Stearns in Rensselaer. Subsequently Manager of the Boy's Dept. at W.M. Whitney Dept. Store in Albany, the Dept. of Motor Vehicles for 16 years, and SUNY at Albany for10 years.
In addition to her parents and her husband she was predeceased by her brothers; Norman, Eldon and James Fink; her sisters; Elberta Bolani and Elizabeth Stage.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Shirley M. (Ward) Fellows, of Niskayuna, NY; and her son Kermit J. (Elvina) MacMillen, Jr. of Delmar, NY; she is the cherished grandmother of Mark (Michele) Fellows of Tennessee, Craig (Dorothy) Fellows of Schenectady, Lynda Fellows of Slingerlands, Sherry (Christopher) Lightner of Ballston Lake, Connie (Jack) Tully of Albany, Deborah (Timothy) Madden of Vermont. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren; Gregory, Amber, Stephen, and Philip Lightner, Brandon (Taylor) Fellows, Timothy and Michaela Madden; her sister, Anne (Wayne) Clark of Roanoke, VA., and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, Colonie Chapel, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow the service at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
