Evelyn Skavina

Evelyn Skavina passed away peacefully at her home on May 8, 2015. She was 95 years old.
The daughter of the late Carl and Emily (Krykowski) Siebert, Evelyn was born on October 3, 1919 in Albany, NY. After graduating from high school, Evelyn worked for the New York Telephone until her retirement in 1975. She enjoyed cooking, painting and being with her family. Anyone that met her enjoyed her company, as well as her cooking. Evelyn will always be loved and will be missed.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Joseph A. Skavina in 2003. She is survived by her sister Helen Datri; brother Arthur Siebert; sister-in-law Clara Hemmet; nephew James Datri; niece Donna Banas; niece MaryAnn Datri; nephew Stephen Colmar; niece Evelyn Fink and several other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10am to 12pm on Thursday, May 14 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 12 pm following the visitation. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Evelyn's name to the McKownville United Methodist Church, 1565 Western Ave, Albany, NY 12203.
