Faith "Fay" Petrocelli, 85, wife of the late Domenick "Sonny" Petrocelli of Albany, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by beloved family and friends on Friday, December 2, 2022.
Faith was born on May 26, 1937, in the Bronx, New York, the daughter of Augusta and George S. Polychronides.
Faith attended Theodore Roosevelt High School, then married and moved with her husband to Albany, where they raised their three sons. Faith worked for many years as a Clerk at the Licensing Unit of the NYS Department of State, and also owned and operated the Window Sub Shop in downtown Albany with her husband. Faith loved spending time with her grandchildren and her many close friends and especially loved the family's yearly trip to Wildwood, New Jersey. If you knew Fay, you knew she was feisty, always fashionable, sardonic, generous, and extremely loving. She never turned down an opportunity to travel, whether it was a one-hour road trip, a cruise, or time in Portugal or on the Mediterranean Ocean in Greece.
Faith is survived by sons Rocky (Norma), Dino (Lisa), and Paul; three grandchildren, Sara, Sophia, and Dino Jr., as well as relatives still living in the Bronx, Long Island, and Delaware, and several cherished lifelong friends.
The family would like to thank all those who visited Faith during her illness and cared for her, especially Faith's niece Ana Warnken, Michele Beckmann, sister-in-law Patricia Lochner, niece Tammy Warnken, Karen and Tony Padula, Pat Geier, Patty O'Brien. Special thanks to the visiting nurses/aides and Hospice staff for their compassionate care.
Friends and Family are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, December 8, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie NY, 12205. Interment ceremony will be private.
