Faye Diana Kantor Chaikowski, age 70, resident of Guilderland New York, is now resting in eternal peace after a 34 year long battle with cancer.
Faye was born in Brooklyn New York on December 13, 1951. Moving to Wantagh New York at an early age Faye was raised there by her parents Esther and Morris Kantor along with younger brother Alan.
Faye moved to the Albany area in 1969 to attend SUNY Albany where she graduated with a Fine Arts degree and met her future husband John Chaikowski.
Soon after Faye began working for GE in Schenectady New York, retiring after 35 years as Senior Design Draftsman.
Faye and John were married in 1986 and were blessed to welcome the arrival of their daughter Celia in 1997 and their grandson Lorenzo in 2019.
Faye's positive outlook on life and strength of character were evident to all her family and friends. The beaches and ocean were her constant sources of renewal. Yearly trips to Cape Cod, several visits to Maui, and of course her beloved Jones Beach on Long Island were her favorite places on earth.
To know Faye you tasted her mom's cheesecake recipe, came to one of many reunions she coordinated for family, coworkers or college friends, and sat through at least one viewing of the movie Father Goose.
Faye is survived by her husband John Chaikowski, daughter Celia Chaikowski and her son Lorenzo, brother Alan Kantor of Crossville Tennessee, and many extended family members.
Service and burial will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16 at Beth Emeth Cemetery, 58 Turner Lane Albany NY .
In lieu of flowers, donations in Faye's name to the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
