EAST GREENBUSH – Filice "Phil" Catalfamo, 64, passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, March 16, 2013. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Carmelo and Josephine Catalfamo. Phil was a graduate of Philip Schuyler in Albany and a veteran of the US Army serving in Viet Nam. He worked for Union Local #190 from where he retired. Phil's biggest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Nick Catalfamo and his brothers-in-law, Nelson Wilkinson, Les Mosher and George Mosher.
Phil is the cherished husband of twenty-five years to Georgina "Gina" Mosher Catalfamo and the loving father of Melinda Mosher of Albany and Nikki (Wes) Catalfamo of East Greenbush. He is the brother of Charles (Catherine) Catalfamo of Tarpan Springs, FL, Rose (William) Bix of East Greenbush, Vincent (Margaret) Catalfamo of Rensselaer, Mary Wilkinson of Rensselaer and Anthony Catalfamo of Albany. Phil is the devoted grandfather of Joseph Mosher and Chad Benedict Jr. He is the brother-in-law of Cathy (Ed) D'Alessio, Lillian (James) Huskey, Irene Estes, Lorraine Brown and Jeffrey (Mary) Mosher. Also surviving are a host of nieces and nephews and his faithful canine pals, Sweetpea and Dozer.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211 or the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Filice Catalfamo.
