Filomena G. Futia

COLONIE – Filomena G. Futia, 88, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Friday April 1, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital , surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Calabria, Italy and was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Maria Caccamo. Filomena came to the United States in 1974. She was a New York State employee for many years. Filomena was devoted to her dear family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Salvatore in 1992.
Filomena is the beloved mother of Frank (Aurora) Futia, Maria (Alfredo) Tricomi, Marcella (Mario) Futia and Valeria (Pasquale) Caccamo. She is the sister of Josephine Figliomeni and Santa Caccamo. Filomena is the cherished grandmother of Renata, Sam, Franka, Dominick and Morena Futia; Mario, Erica and Alessandra Tricomi; Sabrina, Michela and Pasqualino Caccamo. She is the sister in law of Mona Coluccio (late Luigi), Mike and Rose Futia and Mary Futia. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 9:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to St. Pius X Church, Loudonville at 10:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of NENY, 99 Troy Road, Suite 200, East Greenbush, NY 12061 in memory of Filomena Futia.
