Florence J. Banks

SHENECTADY- Florence J. Banks, 69, loving wife, mother and friend, passed away on Tuesday January 13, 2009.
She was the daughter of the late Peter and Estelle George. Florence was born on April 15, 1939 in Brooklyn. She had spent many years living in the Capital Region and was employed by the State of New York as an administrative assistant for 38 years, retiring in 2004. Florence was a loving caring person who will be sadly missed.
Florence is survived by her loving husband Eugene D. Banks Sr., her daughter Gail Hurley; her son, F. Richard Hurley and wife Kaaron all of Brooklyn; daughters Tecla Hurley of Atlanta, GA., Devika Spears and husband Terry of Griffin GA., and her son Ram Boodram and wife Barbara of Clifton Park. She is the brother of Govinda Sanyal and wife Veejee of Staten Island and the late Billy and Harold George. She is the stepmother of Dawn Banks, Eugene D. Banks Jr. and wife Sharon, Darren Banks, Gale Banks, Carmella Banks and the late Robin Mays. Florence is also survived by her other loving stepchildren, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at 1:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Saturday from 11am to 1 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden. To leave a special message for the family online, visit NewcomerAlbany.com
