ALBANY – Florence K. Kelly, 90, entered into eternal life in the comfort of her family on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at the Teresian House.
Florence was born in Ticonderoga, NY and was the daughter of the late Aldrich and Edith McNally Williams and the wife of the late Howard E. Kelly who died in January 1998.
Florence was the owner of the Glendale Boutique and Beauty Shop in Albany for many years. Following her retirement, she devoted her time to her family and friends, especially to her grandchildren whom she adored. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and devoted friend to many.
Florence is the beloved mother of Carolann (Lawrence) Bombard and Linda (David) Weaver both of Guilderland. She was the cherished grandmother of Jennifer Vitkus, Michelle Graves, Michael Bombard, Matthew Bombard, Christopher Weaver, and Kelly Weaver and was the proud great-grandmother to Kayden Bombard. She was the sister of James A. Williams of Guilderland and Richard A. McCoy of Cape Coral, Fla. and sister-in-law of Heinz E. Strassner, Evelyn Williams and Joan Williams. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Walton Williams, Harold Williams, Stewart Williams, Timothy McCoy; her beloved sister, Jean Strassner; and her sisters-in-law, Viola Williams and Gertrude McCoy.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the second floor staff as well as to Sr. Maureen, Sr. Patricia, and Sr. Joan of the Teresian House for their immeasurable care and support. The family also wishes to express their deepest gratitude to David, Edie, Dona, Pamela, Darlene and Sandra for the wonderful care and companionship provided to Florence during her stay at home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Infant of Prague Chapel at the Teresian House, Albany. Entombment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Calling hours will be held at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
