Florence Ida Lind, 94 years of age, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Troy Center Nursing & Rehab.
Florence's predeceased husband of 53 years, Robert (Bob) William Lind, was surely waiting with open arms to welcome Florence home.
Florence was born to Carl John Bjork and Lillian Louise Ekstrom Bjork on August 14, 1929 in Vasa, MN, but spent most of her life in her beloved Oregon.
Florence worked as a bank teller for many years & liked to tell of the three times the bank was robbed at gunpoint. Later in life, she enjoyed working at a fine gifts shop where she collected many beautiful pieces.
Florence was a great seamstress and bestowed beautiful hand-sewn goods to her friends and family. She loved traveling cross-country with Bob in their camper, playing the organ at her church, canning Oregon peaches and berries and visiting family. She had a special place in her heart for her sister Doris.
Florence was a sweet and happy person, earning her wonderful lasting friendships throughout her life. Although Florence never had any children of her own, she was doted on by her extended family, and always had plenty of love and support all around her.
Florence was predeceased by her parents, her siblings LeRoy Bjork, Victor Bjork and Doris (Principe) Bjork. Florence is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and great-nieces.
Florence did not want any fuss or services. Her memory will live forever in our hearts.
Florence will be interred alongside her husband, a WW II veteran, in the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR.
